Vittia Group presents launches at Agro+2019 in São Mateus
The event will feature an exclusive Vittia Group stand, demonstrating products for coffee, pepper and fruit crops
Until this Thursday (29), Tropical Melhoramento e Genética (TMG) is participating in the 12th Brazilian Cotton Congress (CBA), in Goiânia (GO). As one of the sponsors of CBA 2019, the company will share the main news among participants, including the launch of a new cultivar and biotechnology for cotton.
The launch of this crop is TMG 61RF, a cultivar that stands out for presenting around 48% fiber yield, while in the Brazilian market the yield of most cultivars reaches a maximum of 42%.
The new generation of WideStrike3 biotechnology, from Corteva Agriscience, brings superior protection against lepidopteran pests throughout the cotton crop cycle, and greater ease of management. Throughout the 2019/20 cotton harvest, TMG will present to the cotton growing market the cultivars being launched with this new technological event. And on this first day of the Congress, TMG and Corteva will hold a cocktail party at the TMG stand for the press and guests to present more details of the news.
Another highlight of the event is TMG 44 B2RF, which in yet another harvest highlights high productivity and fiber excellence throughout the cerrado, with results that exceed 400 arrobas per hectare (@/ha) in some regions. Projections from the cotton market (producers, consultants, seed multipliers) indicate that TMG 44B2RF will be the most planted cultivar in the next harvest.
Representing more than 1/3 of the national cotton market, TMG has participated in the CBA since the 9th edition and, according to Francisco Soares Neto, president of the company, the partnership brings benefits to the company and recognition of the work of the Brazilian Association of Cotton Producers (Abrapa), organizer of the Congress. “We respect and admire the entity’s work, which unites the links in the cotton chain and shows the importance of Brazilian fiber for Brazil and abroad”, he highlights.
Issues
For several harvests, TMG cotton has been in a scenario of evolution and consolidation, due to field results that show the high productive potential and excellent fiber quality of the varieties. According to the Kleffmann AMIS 2019 survey, TMG cotton continues to be present in more than 1/3 of the entire growing area in Brazil and two of the three most planted cultivars in the 2018/19 cotton harvest are TMG - TMG 44B2RF and TMG 81WS. Furthermore, internal data show growth in this harvest of 48% in the volume sold of the brand's cotton seeds, in relation to the 2017/18 harvest.
