Rural producers in Ashburton, New Zealand, break Guinness record for wheat production
The couple produced an incredible 16.791 kilos per hectare, beating the previous record of 16.519 kilos
The federal government's largest Storage Unit, located in Paraná, can now receive soy and corn from private producers. This Wednesday (5), the National Supply Company (Conab) inaugurates the new thermometry system at UA Ponta Grossa, which is also the ninth largest in Brazil.
Thermometry reduces the operational risk of the warehouse. The system, mandatory for the certification of storage units, guarantees more precision in storage actions and makes the process less costly, as it drastically reduces the risk of losses.
The thermometry structure is made up of a set of sensors distributed inside the silo, which periodically measure the temperature of the grain mass. With this system, it is possible to monitor the biological activity of the product by measuring temperature in real time, which helps with preservation and allows deciding the appropriate action in each case, be it purging, aeration or transilling (moving the grain mass ).
With the system, the Ponta Grossa Unit starts to operate using its total capacity, which is 420 thousand tons. Located on BR 376, Km 510, it is in a strategic position, on the flow route between grain production and the Port of Paranaguá. The warehouses are fully receiving the harvest, around 2 thousand tons per day.
The Ponta Grossa UA was built in 1972 and began operations in 1974. The storage complex has 6 deep "V" bulk warehouses (2 units with a capacity of 50 thousand tons and 4 units with a capacity of 75 thousand tons) and a storage battery vertical concrete silos with 16 cells and 6 between cells (total capacity of 20 thousand tons).
