The V Abisolo Forum and the 1st Fertishow launched, scheduled for August in Ribeirão Preto/SP

Analyzes and projections of the fertilizer sector in Brazil, based on recent statistics released by Anda (National Association for the Diffusion of Abubos), indicated delivery of around 12,1 million tons of fertilizers in the first half of 2013, an expansion of 3,6% compared to the first half of 2012. According to market estimates, this should also be the growth for the end of the year, with consumption ranging between 30 million and 30,5 million tons. In relation to the specific segment of special fertilizers, according to a survey by BBAgro Global, this year it is estimated that 10% of the total fertilizers consumed in the country will be consumed, which is equivalent to revenue of R$ 3 billion. The projection for this market is growth of 95% by 2022, with 40% expected to come from an increase in the dose of special fertilizers, and 60% from an increase in the degree of adoption, that is, which will be applied during planting.

These data were released today (19/07) during a press conference in São Paulo, by the promoters of the V Abisolo Forum, which will focus on the issue of "Modernity, Management and Technology in Plant Nutrition”, and the 1st FertiShow ( National and International Exhibition of the Specialty Fertilizer Industry). Present were the President of Abisolo, Clorialdo Roberto Levreiro, the Executive Secretary, José Alberto Nunes da Silva, and the Technical Advisor and Director of BBAgro Global, Franco Borsari, who in addition to presenting the forum content, gave industry figures and estimates.

The numbers presented show the importance of the two events, which take place from the 21st to the 23rd of August, in Ribeirão Preto/SP, at the Pereira Alvim Convention Center, with the aim of involving the most important links in the production chain of Special Fertilizers and discuss the effect of nutrients on increasing Brazilian agricultural productivity. They are organized by Abisolo (Brazilian Association of Plant Nutrition Technology Industries), and supported by ABAG (Brazilian Agribusiness Association), Embrapa (Brazilian Agricultural Research Company), and several other agribusiness entities.

According to the President of Abisolo, the expectation is that 500 people registered for the debate panels will participate in the conferences, 50% more than the previous edition, and 1.500 visitors during FertiShow, which should be the biggest event in the technology industry in plant nutrition in Latin America, with around two thousand square meters dedicated exclusively to the exhibition, with the participation of 50 companies that will present technological innovations in the plant nutrition sector.

The director of BBAgro Golbal highlighted the presence at the forum of two former ministers of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Alysson Paolinelli and Roberto Rodrigues, the president of Embrapa, Dr. Mauricio Lopes, the Agricultural Engineer, Marcelo Prado, director of M. Prado Associates, in addition to several nationally and internationally renowned researchers and scientists.

The event should bring together businesspeople, input distributors, manufacturers of raw materials, packaging and industrial equipment, public managers, cooperatives, consultants, agricultural companies, teachers, researchers, agricultural science students, and other professionals interested in getting to know the sector, which will discuss the following topics:
