Investments in science, technology, knowledge and innovation have contributed to Brazil achieving production records, harvest after harvest, and, consequently, being able to generate good results for the country's development, with more jobs and income. For the 2022/2023 cycle, the forecast is to harvest 310,9 million tons of grains, according to data from the National Supply Company (Conab). This number is 14,5% higher than the previous harvest.
Given this scenario, Tecnoshow Comigo emerges as one of the largest showcases of rural technology in the country, helping agriculture to be the protagonist of the national economy. It's been 20 years since the largest rural technology fair in the Center-West and one of the three main ones in Brazil, which is why the organization predicts another great success for the 2023 edition, at the Centro Tecnológico Comigo (CTC), in Rio Verde , from March 27th to 31st.
The expectation of the Agroindustrial Cooperative of Rural Producers of Southwest Goiano (COMIGO) - organizer of the event - is that more than 130 thousand people will visit the fair in search of information, technology, innovation and business focused on the countryside and that positively impact the cities. The evolution of business in the five days of Tecnoshow, over these 20 years, is a faithful portrait of the importance of the event for Brazilian agribusiness. In the last edition, the volume exceeded R$10,6 billion.
In addition to enabling investments in the acquisition of machines, implements, inputs and high-tech tools, the fair is an opportunity for the public to expand knowledge, through lectures (more than 100 scheduled), sustainable actions, exhibition and dynamics of livestock; and access news that companies and institutions will present in this year's edition, from plots with agricultural experiments and research demonstrations, to launches of new varieties for different crops, for example. To this end, in an area of 65 hectares, there will be 650 exhibitors from all over the country, providing solutions that help everyone from small producers to large producers and companies.
The president of COMIGO, Antonio Chavaglia, celebrates the holding of the special edition of Tecnoshow Comigo, which celebrates 20 years in 2023, highlighting that the fair had and still has great relevance in the history of Brazilian agricultural development. "By bringing the most modern to rural production, the main issues that permeate the sector and making this available to the producer, Tecnoshow plays a leading role in strengthening the segment, which is the driving force of the country's economy" , he highlights.
"In all these years, we have had exponential growth in public participation, exhibitors and sales numbers during the fair. It is investments from our producers that provide fantastic increases in production and productivity in the field", highlights the president of the Cooperative.
From the launch of the fair, in 2002, until the last edition, in 2022, Tecnoshow Comigo has followed the evolution of Brazilian agriculture and contributed to the growth of the sector. In the first year, there were around 50 exhibitors and an audience of 4 thousand people, over three days of the event. In two decades, these numbers have increased to 620 exhibitors and 128 thousand people (last year).
Comparing with the grain harvest, for example, there was a jump in this period of national production that went from 119,1 million tons, in the 2003/2004 cycle, to 310,9 million tons in the forecast for this cycle 2022/ 2023. In livestock farming, the Brazilian cattle herd went from 195,5 million heads in 2003 to 224,6 million in 2021, according to the most recent data from IBGE [Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics].
