Deadline for sowing soybeans in Pará is extended by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock
Adepará took the producers’ demand to the federal government; the extension is necessary due to the weather conditions in the region
With less than 60 days left until the 34th Official Opening of the Rice and Grains Harvest in Lowlands, one of the event's main attractions is in the final stages of cultivation. These are the Technological Showcases areas, which will bring together, this year, 40 stations exhibiting new technologies to obtain the full productive potential of rice, soybeans and corn. The small crops, which serve as samples for the producer, are being prepared to receive visitors between the 21st and 23rd of February, at the Terras Baixas Experimental Station of Embrapa Clima Temperado, in Capão do Leão (RS).
The technical director of the Federation of Rice Growers Associations of Rio Grande do Sul (Federarroz), André Matos, says that soybean and corn materials are at the reproductive stage, as are rice materials. He says that this week it will be possible to see rice panicles emerging. “The idea, now, is to protect these rice, soybean and corn cultivars from the main pests and diseases with the products that are part of the Technological Showcases, the entire crop protection portfolio we apply, the best we have in there of the showcase, to be able to guarantee that we will have plants expressing their best and maximum productive potential”, explains the director.
Among the new features for this edition of the Opening of the Harvest, the technical director of Federarroz highlights the new cultivars from Embrapa and also from Irga. In addition to these varieties, producers will be able to check the performance of new versions of materials from other companies participating in the showcase. Matos also anticipates that in soybeans, there will be many companies with a portfolio of both seeds and crop production, just like in corn.
The 34th Official Opening of the Rice and Grain Harvest in Terras Baixas, which has as its theme this year “Management Enhancing Crops”, is a realization of Federarroz and co-realization of Embrapa and Senar RS with the Premium Sponsorship of the Instituto Riograndense do Arroz (Irga ).
