With the aim of disseminating results of good soybean production practices in Paraná, IDR-Paraná and Embrapa Soja will hold the Soybean Technical Tour from November 21 to December 5, visiting twelve cities in the state in this first stage. The event, which is already in its 12th edition, covers several regions of Paraná, addressing topics related to the different agricultural practices that are part of the daily lives of soybean producers.
Integrated soybean pest management, the Rust Alert system, biological nutrient fixation, integrated disease management, input application technology, soil and weed management are the main topics that will be discussed in these meetings. As highlighted by Edivan José Possamai, state coordinator of the Sustainable Grains Program of IDR-Paraná, these contents are the pillars of sustainable soybean production, impacting crop productivity, the economic profitability of producers and the environment. “This work demonstrates that it is possible to rationalize the use of inputs, whether fertilizers, fungicides, insecticides or herbicides, using integrated management, without losing crop productivity, which results in greater profitability for producers”, emphasizes Possamai.
André Prando, researcher at Embrapa Soja, highlights the work of co-inoculation in soybeans with Bradyrhurobium e azospirillum which can result, on average, in an 8% increase in crop productivity, with low inoculant costs. The Giro Técnico, in the researcher's view, allows farmers, technicians and researchers to come together to discuss these technologies. “In the case of co-inoculation, our partnership with IDR-Paraná allows us to generate results that prove the importance of adopting good practices, from the acquisition of inoculants to their storage and use, aiming to obtain better results”, highlights Prando.
The partnership between research and extension has highlighted Paraná as a national reference in the adoption of sustainable technologies and productivity in soybean cultivation. Estimates indicate that the adoption of these good practices results in a profitability of 17 more bags of soybeans per hectare, either through cost reduction or increased productivity. However, Possamai notes that there is a need for more farmers to adopt these good practices, as recurring problems still occur, such as soil erosion and cases of pesticide drift.
The Technical Tour has the support of the Faep/Senar-PR System, Itaipu Binacional, universities, agricultural colleges, among others.
