Taurus launches T9 carbine on AR platform

Taurus launched the T9 rifle, produced 100% in Brazil. The equipment in 9mm caliber and 8” barrel will soon also be available with three other barrel lengths: 5,5”, 11” and 16”.

With a modern design on the AR platform, the new product is made from 7075 aluminum, providing lightness and resistance.

It has a magazine with a capacity of 32 shots, compatible with other models on the market, transparent, allowing the ammunition to be viewed.

The T9 8” carbine is fully ambidextrous (bolt retainer, magazine retainer, fire selector and control lever ambidextrous), has a 5-position retractable stock, MIL-STD-1913 upper Picatinny rail, and folding and removable type sights. flip up, which add the possibility of using a variety of optical equipment, meeting the most diverse particularities of the product's uses.

The handguard (hand guard) in the MLOK standard (modular lock), provides better ergonomics, in addition to being thinner, lighter and adaptable to the needs of each application, allowing accessories to be assembled as the user desires.

The T9 carbine is aimed at the police and military markets, being ideal for tactical use in short-range situations in urban and rural areas. It is also recommended for sports shooting.

The model with an 8” barrel weighs 2,594 kg (without magazine) and 2,714 kg (with magazine), measures 655 mm with the stock retracted, has a 'safe' and 'semi-automatic' fire selector, and also the 'automatic' option, exclusively in the equipment version for military and police agencies. It operates with a "Blowback" action system, which eliminates the need to lock the breech, enabling a higher rate of fire.
