O Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa) published this Tuesday (27), in the Official Gazette of the Union, the Normative Instruction No. 59, which establishes the wine registry through the Wine and Beverage Information System (Sivibe). The new system will coordinate and manage declarations from winegrowers, winegrowers and winemakers across the country.
The Normative Instruction comes into force on November 3rd. From then on, all winegrowers and growers in the country must register within 180 days in the Viticulture module of this system.
Sivibe allows producers to send declarations about cultivated areas, quantity produced in the harvest per variety and the destination of this production. It also allows the verification and analysis of these data by agricultural inspections with a view to controlling national wine production.
“This registration allows for very efficient control over possible fraud in the production of wines, allowing the quantity of grapes used to be related to the quantity of wine obtained by the establishments. Furthermore, important statistics and surveys of the national wine sector are generated through this system, promoting national viticulture and highlighting the economic and social importance of this sector”, explains the general coordinator of Wines and Beverages at Mapa, Carlos Muller.
The registration of the winegrower or winemaker will be carried out by presenting data such as CPF, CNPJ, email and address. The registration of properties and vineyards must have information on the type of exploitation, the total area explored and area with vineyards and technical information about each vineyard.
According to IN, data on wine growers and wine growers and their respective properties and vineyards included in the Viticultural Registry of Embrapa Uva e Vinho are now included in the Sivibe database. Embrapa Uva e Vinho, located in Bento Gonçalves (RS), worked together with the Mapa Agricultural Defense Secretariat in the development of this system and will promote the review and update of its database, as well as the preparation of studies and analyses. of the national wine sector and the dissemination of knowledge obtained.
The producer who sells grapes without being registered with Sivibe or with outdated data will be considered an offender, as well as the winemaker who purchases grapes from unregistered producers. The sanction ranges from warning, fine to interdiction and revocation of registration.
