IHARA has launches at Show Rural Coopavel 2023
Company offers another technological experience at "Castelo Samurai"
Syngenta Crop Protection highlights Plinazolin technology at the Coopavel 2023 Rural Show. It is a molecule capable of providing "a new level of control for more than 40 crops, being the basis of a revolutionary family of high-performance insecticide products", according to informs the company.
On video, Marcos Queiroz, manager for Brazil of new insecticides, explains the molecule. A Cultivar Magazine reported your launch here and its economic implications here.
Syngenta also introduces the Miravis brand family of products (fungicides with the trademarked active ingredient Adepidyn). It consists of a product "capable of delivering a broad spectrum of action and an incomparable performance in controlling the main diseases in more than 30 crops".
The molecules are not yet registered for use in Brazil. Syngenta sources estimate that this should happen in the coming months.
Plinazolin is a brand name. The molecule is called isocycloseram (isocycloseram) and belongs to the group of isoxazolines (isoxazoline). It consists of an insecticide and acaricide with action against species of Lepidoptera, Hemiptera, Coleoptera, Tisanoptera and Diptera.
According to internal information from Syngenta:
"Isocycloseram selectively targets the invertebrate Rdl GABA receptor at a site distinct from phenylpyrazoles (fiproles) and organochlorines. The widely distributed cyclodiene resistance mutation, A301S, does not affect sensitivity to isocicloseram, either in vitro or in vivo, demonstrating the suitability of isocicloseram for controlling pest infestations with this resistance mechanism.
Detailed studies have demonstrated that the binding sites relevant to the insecticidal activity of avermectins and isocycloseram are distinct. Isocycloseram has been shown to compete for binding with metadiamide insecticides related to broflanilide.
Furthermore, a G335M mutation in the third transmembrane domain of the Rdl GABA receptor impaired the ability of isocicloseram and metadiamides to block the GABA-mediated response. As such, the Insecticide Resistance Action Committee (IRAC) has classified isocicloseram in Group 30 'Chloride channel allosteric modulators with GABA control'".
In Brazil, there are registration applications for the following commercial products, crops and targets:
