Inviting cotton farmers to “Try the Future” is Syngenta's strategy to attract the attention of the approximately 1,8 participants expected for the twelfth edition of the Brazilian Cotton Congress (CBA). Held between August 27th and 29th, in Goiânia, the event is promoted by the Brazilian Association of Cotton Producers (Abrapa), with support from the Brazilian Cotton Institute (IBA) and Embrapa.

According to the cotton market manager, Marcio José Trento Costa, the basis of the concept of Experience the Future is to make available to producers “all our solutions for the crops to which we direct our efforts, including cotton. Among those specific to cotton farming, it is worth highlighting Ampligo Pro, aimed at controlling the caterpillar and mite complex, in addition to the service Strider Protector, which offers more efficient control of pests and diseases, adding digital technology and sustainable management to the use of pesticides”, he states.

Another new feature, according to the manager, will be the extension of the Conscientious Management program à cotton culture. “These are ten fundamental principles for managing crops appropriately and sustainably. Our initiative aims to unite actors linked to agriculture with a focus on adequate disease management. With pathogens becoming less and less sensitive to existing chemical groups, it is necessary to raise awareness and disseminate improved agricultural practices effectively,” he reveals.

Commitment

For Trento, the Brazilian Cotton Congress is extremely relevant to the feather production chain. “It brings together all the links and encourages discussions about new technologies and scenarios, in favor of better fiber quality and, consequently, the development of Brazilian cotton farming. Ensuring Syngenta's participation in the congress is our commitment to offering the best solutions and technologies so that the producer can have the necessary tools to carry out management in an adequate and sustainable way, thus guaranteeing quality cotton for the end consumer”, he states. .

“The 12th CBA will have a very important meaning for our association, as it will celebrate the passage of two decades of constant, bold and innovative work to make possible not only the resumption of the activity, which, at the time of Abrapa's founding, was almost extinct in Brazil, such as the country's rise from a major importer of feathers to the second largest exporter in the world. Without companies like Syngenta, this would not be possible. That is why it is so significant to always have her at our congress”, says Milton Garbugio, president of Abrapa.
