Syngenta announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Strider, a leading digital agriculture company that develops and markets farm management software systems in Brazil.
“There is a legitimate synergy between Syngenta and Strider. It is a union between two complementary companies, which will support the growth and development of agriculture in Latin America, mainly in Brazil, enabling increased production and efficiency for the farmer, with greater and more sustainable productivity”, says André Savino, Director of Marketing at Syngenta Brasil.
“Today, producers no longer seek to buy chemicals or software in isolation, they are focused on efficient agriculture. Strider's mission is to deliver this success, knowing that what is valued by farmers is high productivity, cost efficiency and operations that are economically and environmentally viable. And this is exactly what we sell”, emphasizes Luiz Tangari, CEO and founder of Strider.
The acquisition of Strider is in line with Syngenta's vision that digital is fully integrated into its offering and will help expand the company's reach in Latin America. The company also recently announced the acquisition of FarmShots, Inc., a North Carolina-based high-resolution satellite imaging company that detects plant health by analyzing light absorbed from field images.
