Syngenta continues its expansion policy in the agricultural resale sector. The last step was the acquisition of Agro Jangada Ltda. Headquartered in Itaporã (MS), this legal entity has establishments in five other municipalities in the state. The value of the business was not disclosed.
Syngenta's strategy appears to be to control resales in important regions. Through them, you can easily sell your products. The first step seems to be the opening of its own stores, as in the case of the "Atua Agro" chain. In specific situations, it acquires shares from legal entities already established in the local market.
The consolidation of the business depends on the approval of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE). Under current legislation, acts of market concentration are subject to prior control (change following the famous "Nestlé - Garoto" case). The legal deadline for completing the procedure is 240 days from the filing of the petition or its amendment. On the CADE website, as of 6/8/22, there was still no information about the request. The only search result in 2022 refers to process 08700.003005/2022-22, a representation filed by Semper Agtech Ltda against Syngenta Seeds Ltda and Syngenta Participations AG (“articles 36, I, 66 and 70 of Law 12.529/2011” ).
Agro Jangada Ltda (01.960.475/0001-92) is a legal entity with share capital of R$ 118.791.658,00 (one hundred and eighteen million, seven hundred and ninety-one thousand, six hundred and fifty-eight reais). According to official information obtained today, the following are managing partners: Ney Ricieri Ferezin, Aristeu Alceu Carbonaro, Jair da Rocha Brito, Waldir da Silva Faleiros, Álvaro José Carbonaro and Ademir Ribeiro de Mendonça.
