Continuing the expansion project, after receiving an investment of 1,9 million dollars, the startup Symbiomics, a biotechnology company focused on isolating disruptive microorganisms for agriculture, opens its own laboratory, in Florianópolis (SC). With the capacity to accommodate a team of researchers and technicians of 20 professionals, the 300 m² space will allow the execution of microbiology and molecular biology activities necessary for product development.

The laboratory also gives the startup autonomy to carry out the five steps necessary for the bioinput production process: isolation of microorganisms, genetic sequencing, product design, testing in greenhouses and field validation. “Agricultural inputs based on microorganisms are sustainable alternatives that reduce, or even replace, agrochemicals, in addition to increasing field productivity. Therefore, their study and development are extremely important”, says Jader Armanhi, co-founder and COO of the company.

With a great capacity to produce high-performance biological solutions, Symbiomics also plans to build its own greenhouses to validate the products developed.
