Sustainable soils is one of the topics that will be covered at the Famato Embrapa Show

Famato Embrapa Show takes place from June 22nd to 24th, in Cuiabá (MT)

Embrapa Agropecuária Oeste (Dourados-MS), one of the 43 research units of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation – Embrapa, will participate in the activities of the Famato Embrapa Show, a large agricultural innovation fair, which will be held from the 22nd to the 24th of June, in Cuiabá (MT). Created by the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of Mato Grosso (Famato) and built in partnership with Embrapa Agrosilvipastoril and the National Rural Learning Service (Senar-MT), the event aims to disseminate Embrapa technologies available to medium and large producers from Mato Grosso and will feature the participation of 14 Embrapa units. In total, around 60 technological assets will be presented ready for partnership or immediate use by the producer.

The participation of the Unit, located in the south of Mato Grosso do Sul, takes place on June 23, Thursday, through a lecture given by researcher Júlio Cesar Salton, entitled “Soil and straw cover: effects and options for systems and of plants” and which is part of the “Sustainable Soils” panel, which takes place from 8 am to 10 am, in the central auditorium.

In addition to Salton, the Panel will include the participation of researchers: Ademir Fontana, from Embrapa Solos (Rio de Janeiro-RJ), who will characterize the sandy soils; Rafael Nunes, from Embrapa Cerrados (Planaltina-DF), who will speak about “Crop nutrition in times of high fertilizer prices”. The “Sustainable Soils'' panel will be moderated by the Head of Research & Development at Embrapa Solos (Rio de Janeiro-RJ), Silvio Bhering.

On the event

The Famato Embrapa Show will begin on June 22nd, with a keynote speech by the former Minister of Agriculture and creator of Embrapa, Alysson Paolinelli. On the 23rd and 24th, the program runs from 8am to 18pm. The closing will have two performances in the main auditorium. On June 24th, starting at 16:30 pm, the CEO of consultancy Céleres, Anderson Galvão, anticipates scenarios and perspectives for Brazilian agriculture for the 2022/2023 harvest. Next, former minister and former president of the Chamber of Deputies Aldo Rebelo will speak about the ten years since the approval of the Brazilian Forest Code.

The organizers expect that around 500 people, including rural producers, researchers, technicians and consultants linked to agriculture will participate in the Famato Embrapa Show.
