Management to minimize damage to grapes due to the occurrence of late frosts

The intention of producers in Rio Grande do Sul is to sow 969.192 hectares in this 2020/2021 rice harvest. The survey was carried out by the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Division (Dater) of the Rio Grandense do Arroz Institute, based on information collected by teams from the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Centers (Nates) of Irga from rice farmers.
The projection points to a growth of 3,5% in relation to the area of 936.316 ha harvested in the 2019/2020 harvest. There are 32.876 more hectares. In relation to the 2019/2020 harvest intention (946.276 ha) projected by Irga last year, the growth is 2,36% (22.916 ha more).
According to the municipality's survey, the municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul with the greatest intention of planting rice areas are: Uruguaiana, with 78.500 ha; Santa Vitória do Palmar, 68.436 ha; Itaqui, 56.492 ha; and Alegrete, 54.837 ha.
Regarding soybean sowing in rotation with rice, the Irga survey projects an area of 353.731 hectares, with an increase of 20.937 ha in relation to the 332.794 ha of the previous harvest. In soybeans, the intentions by region are as follows: South Zone, with 99.061 ha; Campaign, 86.483 there are; Inner Coastal Plain, 63.981 ha; Central region, 37.797; Western Border, 34.565 ha; and Outer Coastal Plain, 31.844 ha.
