Supplier of drones for agriculture, XMobots invests in spraying models

Technological advances in the use of drones in the application of agricultural pesticides make this one of the most promising niches in this market. Therefore, XMobots, a drone manufacturer in Brazil and Latin America, constantly invests in new models and solutions. "Spraying is and will be a focal point in the functionalities of our products, both drones and software, for the agribusiness market", says Giovani Amianti, CEO of XMobots.

According to the executive, the use of drones for spraying is especially due to its various advantages compared to other common practices, whether performing the service manually or using a tractor, for example. "For an area of ​​one hectare, considering a flat terrain, a manual applicator requires one day of work. With the drone, the farmer can carry out the service in just 15 minutes", explains the executive.

Embedded technology also brings other benefits. In 2020, the company launched the Dractor 25A model, capable of mapping plantations and detecting weeds in sugarcane fields. "With our XMC sensor, developed especially for the spectral signature of the sugarcane leaf, it is possible to disperse the pesticide in a localized area (a method known as picking), that is, only where the weeds are identified. other gains, significant savings on inputs", says the CEO.

For areas where there are large infestations, it is also possible to spray the entire area. For both application systems, the drone has a spray capacity of 10 liters and can apply the agrochemical in up to 1 hour of flight in the collection method.

Market

Since 2016, the company has had agribusiness as the main destination for the technologies developed - in 2020, 72% of the company's drone sales went to the sector. Currently, XMobots is responsible for more than 50% of the drone fleet in the sugar and ethanol market.
