Agribusiness represents 23,5% of the National GDP and strengthens, year after year, as an extremely strategic sector of activity for the good performance of the Brazilian economy. Aware of its importance, the entire chain has been seeking new solutions in order to alleviate some concerns that have bothered producers for generations, such as succession issues, the need to implement professional management and more sustainable production processes, in addition to each profit margin. increasingly narrow.

Faced with these demands, the search for innovation is in all areas and involves a series of actions, such as the permanent training of professionals involved in administration and management, the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment, aiming to improve planting and harvesting systems. , use of drones to monitor crops, adoption of management systems to develop and improve the performance of work teams and even the hiring of specialized consultancies to make more assertive decisions.

With the wide range of solutions on offer, rural producers then start to act in a less intuitive way and increasingly use technology, especially the internet. According to data from the 7th Rural Producer Habits Survey of the Brazilian Association of Rural Marketing and Agribusiness (ABMRA), in 2013, only 17% of farmers interviewed by the entity claimed to have a smartphone. In 2018, this percentage reached 61%. The survey also concluded that ¾ of producers with an internet connection regularly use social networks. 96% of those surveyed also said they use a popular messaging app.

Being more connected, access to information is also faster, which allows rural producers to learn about new products and services available on the market first hand. “When seeing information about a particular launch of interest, the producer accesses research, tests carried out, shares the subject on their networks and is often able to learn about the experience that other producers have had with the product or service”, says the vice-president of SuperBAC, Fabrício Drumond, a biotechnological solutions company operating in the area of high-performance fertilizers.

According to Drumond, in the area of inputs, there is a constant search for more efficient fertilizers that offer more sustainable results to the producer. “At SuperBAC, which has been on the market for over 20 years, investments in research and development of products in this line are a constant,” he says.

As a result, the company launched Supergan, a high-performance fertilizer that has been gaining popularity among producers of crops such as soybeans, corn, wheat and cotton. “Currently our product is already used by more than 2 thousand customers and is present on 2 million hectares”, adds the vice president.

The product's responsibilities include accelerating the decomposition of organic matter; promoting nitrogen fixation and making phosphorus and potassium available to plants; production of growth phytohormones; stimulation of rooting; soil treatment, nutrition and recovery; and enrichment in carbon and organic acids.

“What we saw is that, in rural areas, as well as in large cities, the adoption of innovative technologies is a path of no return when the objective is to improve business productivity and profits”, concludes the SuperBAC executive.
