Sumitomo Chemical is present at the 28th Brazilian Entomology Congress, which takes place at the Events Center in Fortaleza (CE). The company is a Diamante sponsor and presents its insecticide and seed treatment solutions, with a lecture on managing suckers in soybeans, one of the great villains of Brazilian soybean farming today. The event runs until September 2nd.

New for the event are the launches Legion, Thiobel and Loyalty Bio, in addition to the recently launched Aveo. Legion is aimed at controlling soybean bugs and boll weevils, being a shock product focused on the first application. Thiobel has an important role in coffee farming due to the control it exerts on the coffee leaf miner, but it can also be used for several other crops and pests, including the tomato moth.

For seed treatment, the public will see another launch from Sumitomo Chemical, Loyalty Bio, a high-yield bionematicicide with a low-dose liquid formulation, compatible with fungicides, insecticides and inoculants. It fights nematodes, worms that remain in the soil and attack plant roots, being one of the main responsible for compromising the productivity of soybeans, corn and cotton. It is efficient for producers or companies that require industrial treatment.

Aveo, in turn, is for seed treatment in the on-farm system. With an exclusive strain, it promotes safety, high efficacy and phytotonic effect (greater root volume and weight, increased biomass and better initial plant start-up). The solution combats the main damaging nematodes, in addition to providing the plant with better establishment.

On August 31st, at 9 am, there will be a lecture by Sumitomo Chemical insecticide researcher, Tarcisio Galdino, who will discuss the topic “Management of suckers in soybeans: challenges and available tools”. The lecture, which will take place at the Producer's Arena, will be moderated by Manoel Eneas de Carvalho Gonçalves, from the Agricultural Defense Agency of the State of Ceará (Adagri).

The 2022 edition of the congress has the theme “Biodiversity: knowing, conserving and using” and is promoted by the Entomological Society of Brazil (SEB).
