Sumitomo Chemical has a new Latam research manager

Diogo Togni has over 15 years of experience in the crop protection sector

Diogo Togni has been promoted to the position of R&D Manager for Chemicals and Biorationals at Sumitomo Chemical. He will lead R&D activities across the Latin America region. Previously, he served as R&D Manager for Brazil, a position he held for over four years.

He has over 15 years of experience in the crop protection sector. Since 2020, he has led the development projects for new fungicide, herbicide and insecticide molecules at Sumitomo. His role also included managing official efficacy and residue trials for new product registration and use extensions.

Before joining Sumitomo, Togni worked at Mosaic Fertilizantes and Biocapital Participações, working on research into jatropha for biodiesel and managing commercial fields with fertilizers.

His academic career includes a degree in agricultural engineering from the Escola Superior de Agricultura “Luiz de Queiroz”, a master's degree in phytopathology and an MBA in leadership, innovation and management 4.0 from PUCRS.
