The average productivity of sugarcane fields harvested in the month of June in the Center-South (77,5 tons/ha) is similar to that of the previous harvest (78 tons/ha), with a variation of less than 1% in relation to the previous year.

In terms of the harvest, the region's productivity is also quite similar to that observed in the previous cycle, with a negative variation of approximately 2% (76 tons/ha in this harvest, against 77 tons/ha in 2021/2022).

The quality of the raw material (ATR) harvested in June was lower in practically all regions of the Center-South compared to 2021.

On average, the region's sugarcane fields have around 5 kilos of ATR/ton less than in the last harvest, which represents a negative variation of approximately 4%.

Over the three months of the harvest, the result is quite similar – a reduction in the quality of the raw material in practically all states (130 kg/tc in 2021/2022 to 125 kg/tc in this harvest).

The data comes from the “De Olho na Safra” Bulletin, prepared by the Sugarcane Technology Center (CTC), released today.

São José do Rio Preto

The positive highlight is the region of São José do Rio Preto (SP), which records a productivity gain of almost 7% in the accumulated result for this harvest, compared to the same period in 2021/2022.

The good result in the region is due to the greater volume of rain and the harvest of younger sugarcane fields. In the accumulated harvest, year-and-a-half-old sugarcane represents almost 25% of the total harvested in the region.

Mato Grosso do Sul

The negative highlight continues to be Mato Grosso do Sul, which saw a drop of approximately 20% in the accumulated productivity of this harvest compared to the previous one.

The drop in yield is due to the lack of rain between November 2021 and March this year, a period of growth and development of the crop. It is also important to highlight that more than 27% of the total sugarcane harvested in the accumulated harvest was sugarcane above the 5th cut, a factor that also causes a decrease in productivity.
