The incident occurred in São Paulo, where she was hospitalized as a result of a stroke.
Wheat producers planted the largest crop in the last 32 years. With planting practically completed, the area of 2,9 million hectares is estimated to be 8% larger than the previous harvest, with an expected increase in productivity of 10,5%, to 3.096 kg/ha. Three decades ago, agricultural yield was just 1.000 kg/ha. Total grain production is estimated at 9,1 million tons, an increase of 19,3% compared to the previous harvest, according to the National Supply Company (Conab).
Harvesting the cereal, however, is a challenge for the farmer, as it coincides with the time of soybean planting. Many producers apply 2,4-D in the pre-planting desiccation of soybeans and need to wait a grace period of 10 to 15 days before proceeding with the planting of the oilseed, depending on the dosage applied, the type of soil, among other factors. agronomic. Other farmers choose to harvest wheat and sow soybeans afterwards, having an operational gain of up to 15 days, but report many difficulties in managing weeds in soybeans, such as horseweed, pigweed, trapoeraba, viola string and cravorana. Losses are, on average, 15% in grain production, but can reach 90%, according to Embrapa.
“The Enlist System helps producers optimize their planning, saving operational time and providing the best tools for weed management. Enlist soybean seeds are the only ones on the market with tolerance to three herbicides: Enlist Colex-D (new 2,4-D choline salt), glyphosate and ammonium glufosinate. In this way, the wheat producer has the flexibility to harvest the cereal and apply Enlist Colex-D in the pre-planting desiccation of Enlist soybeans, without having to wait for the grace period. Furthermore, in the case of weed escape or the emergence of new flows in soybeans, it is still possible to count on technology as an ally in post-emergence management of the crop, says Cristiane Martin, Enlist Product Leader.
Enlist Colex-D herbicide also offers up to 90% reduction in drift potential, ultra-low volatility and odor reduction. “Simplifying the farmer’s daily life is one of the main objectives of the Enlist System. In addition to being an important tool for soybean cultivation, the technology offers flexibility in the succession with wheat, contributing to the farmer's operations, which is very positive at this time of growth in cereal production in the country”, adds Cristiane.
