Machinery and equipment sector increases by 1,5% in February
According to Abimaq, the sector recorded a 0,2% increase in employment
With the cancellation of several agricultural events for a few months, the sector's calendar in Brazil suffers from the lack of spaces for debates about new technologies in the field. To fill this gap caused by current restrictions, Strider, Syngenta's digital arm, decided to promote Digital Talks: a series of online meetings to discuss the paths to digital agriculture. In the coming weeks, the company will bring together big names in agriculture for conversations in a completely virtual environment open to public participation.
The chats are scheduled for April 7th, 9th, 14th and 16th, always at 19pm. For Strider's New Projects and Events Manager, Beatriz Esteves, the event will bring debates with large farmers from different regions of the country to people's homes. "We will have a calendar of talks with producers of different sizes and from different cultures, who will share their experiences about the challenges encountered and the solutions that are working in their day-to-day agricultural operations", she says.
According to Syngenta's General Marketing Director, André Savino, who will mediate the second panel discussion (09/04), the meetings are important for promoting sustainability in the field. "Technology is a powerful tool for production management. Its advancement opens the way for more efficient agriculture, with more results for the producer and less environmental impact", he assesses.
Among the guests is Thomaz Struckel, Technology, Innovation and Big Data Manager at Irmãos Franciosi Group. According to him, Digital Talks fosters opportunities for the emergence of digital solutions. "I think it's great. We have a great openness to technology. I hope to tell you what we are doing, hear from other groups and learn about solutions. For us, it is still a very new field. In the USA, most farms are 100% computerized. The idea is to exchange experiences," he says.
Also confirmed are Kriss Corso, from Grupo JCN, and Edson Vendrusculo, from O Telhar. The complete schedule and link to the broadcast can be accessed here. Participation is free.
