Steyr, an Austrian company owned by CNH, has reinforced its Plus tractor line with new transmission options and features geared towards operation with front loaders. The 4100, 4110 and 4120 models, with power outputs ranging from 100 to 117 hp, now feature a new version equipped with a 12F/12R powershuttle transmission, designed for fast and smooth direction changes. The aim is to meet the operational demands of users working with front loaders and hydraulic implements.

The new transmission offers 12 forward and 12 reverse gears, with electro-hydraulic reverse. This configuration uses mechanical traction control. A future update scheduled for late 2025 will add electric self-guidance, with automatic alignment capability between passes in the field. It will also be possible to include a telemetry package, with real-time two-way communication for remote data management.

Regardless of the transmission, all Plus tractors feature a series of technical updates. The fuel tank now holds 130 liters. Ground clearance has increased by 75 mm, reaching 480 mm, thanks to the new 420/85 R38 rear tire configuration. The “brake-to-clutch” function allows the traction to be disengaged using only the brake pedal, a useful feature in operations with loaders. Total load capacity has increased by 7,7%, reaching 7 tons. The hydraulic pump, now with 82 liters per minute, serves implements that require greater flow.

Other improvements include increased rear lift capacity, increased from 4.400 kg to 4.700 kg, as well as a new front PTO assembly with wet clutch, which reduces the need for maintenance. The optional front hitch is compatible with the new Class 1.5 HD front axle, which now offers more precise steering response.

The standard S-Control II transmission, with 24 forward and 24 reverse gears (HiLo), remains available. It includes electronic traction control and Auto PTO, which automatically engages or disengages the power take-off according to the height of the rear lift arm. For comfort, the mechanical cab suspension remains. The model can also be equipped with variable-ratio steering and hydraulic auto-steer.

Following the updated Powershuttle models, STEYR has launched the S635 front loader. Compatible with tractors 4100 to 4120, the equipment reaches a lifting height of 3,8 meters and supports up to 2.098 kg. The design includes a repositioned pivot point to improve the center of gravity, increasing stability during operation.

The curved profile of the boom enhances forward visibility. The self-leveling mechanism is positioned under the loader boom, while the hydraulic hoses run inside the frame, protected from damage. The S635 can be factory or dealer-installed, with hydraulic kits and subframes available for custom orders.

Standard features include an automatic tractor connection, multi-way hydraulic quick hitch, third-service diverter valve, leveling indicator, soft-ride suspension and Euro-type front support. Optional mudguards are available that are fixed to the loader frame. A new high-capacity bucket with a conical profile is also part of the attachment range. The front blade, made of wear-resistant material, is reversible and facilitates complete unloading of the load.
