Professionals from the technical area of the company Kimberlit Agrociências who lead the UniTA program (Integrated Unit of Application Technology) and the coordinator of the Spraying Adjuvants program, scientific researcher Hamilton Ramos, met at the headquarters of the Engineering and Automation Center (CEA), from the Agronomic Institute (IAC), in Jundiaí, São Paulo. According to Ramos, the meeting discussed technology and safety in the application of pesticides, the relevance of agricultural adjuvants for managing the country's crops and the importance of certification of functionality linked to the commercialization of these products.
An Essere Group company, headquartered in the city of Olímpia, in the interior of São Paulo, Kimberlit Agrociências produces and sells products in the lines of Biostimulants, Specialized Nutrition, Plant Health and Application Technology, in addition to conducting the UniTA program, which aims to bring a technical assistance service in the field of Application Technology. The service is anchored in 8 regional units focused on operational actions and in a Master unit, which operates with an educational focus in Brazil and Paraguay.
According to Ramos, in partnership, the Spraying Adjuvants program and Kimberlit Agrociências develop studies with the aim of technically certifying the functionality of the adjuvants distributed by the company.
As Ramos explains, adjuvants are products added to the agrochemical mixture, aiming to add spreading, humectant, penetrating and other properties. “Adjuvants do not require official registration like pesticides. A good strategy for the adjuvant manufacturer to ensure the effectiveness of the products on the market is to stamp the CEA-IAC seal, which identifies the agronomic functionality of adjuvant technologies in Brazil”, summarizes the researcher.
Ramos adds that the Spraying Adjuvants program was created 17 years ago and is maintained with private resources in a state-of-the-art laboratory, built on the premises of CEA-IAC, in Jundiaí. The research center is linked to the Department of Agriculture and Supply of the State of SP.
