SpecSolo Technology, a new methodology for analyzing soil fertility, developed by Embrapa Solos (Rio de Janeiro-RJ) in partnership with SpecLab, was invited for a plenary presentation at the InfoAg 2018 Conference, the main international agricultural technology event, which takes place between the 17th and 19th of July in Saint Louis (United States).

Agriculture's demand for more efficient and sustainable analytical methodologies for soil analysis is a reality worldwide. The current methods used by agronomic laboratories, in general, do not meet the agility and quality that the farmer needs to make decisions in farming.

The invitation to present SpecSolo at the InfoAg Conference reinforces Embrapa's leading role in proposing innovative and high-impact technologies for the global agricultural market, in the scenario of digital transformation of agriculture.

The theme of the presentation, which will be given by Embrapa Soils scientist André Marcelo de Souza, will be “Soil Spectral Library Enabling the Use of NIR in Analytical Routines”, aligned with the institution's interests in the internationalization of technology through partnerships with local agronomic laboratories to database creation and calibration of the SpecSolo analytical methodology.

The presentation summary can be accessed here.

SpecSolo

The SpecSolo analytical solution, based on the use of near-infrared spectroscopy and Big Data and Artificial Intelligence techniques, is an innovation in soil analysis. In addition to reducing the time and cost for carrying out the analyses, it also has the advantage of carrying out these analyzes in a non-destructive way and without generating waste. The solution features exclusive cloud-hosted software for processing the analysis and automated equipment for collecting soil spectra, called SpecSolo-Scan.

InfoAg

Since 1995 the InfoAg Conference has been the main event for the discussion and advancement of precision agriculture. This event attracts interest from agriculture professionals around the world and presents a wide range of educational and networking opportunities for professionals interested in learning more about precision agriculture techniques.
