With windows becoming increasingly shorter, the maintenance of agricultural machinery needs to be carried out in a predictive and scheduled manner. Therefore, Case IH, a CNH Industrial brand, presents the Thermovisor, a solution focused on improving the maintenance management of its equipment used in agriculture. With a camera capable of seeing the thermal behavior of each component, the concept technology makes it possible to detect, in advance, a point of potential failure by identifying out-of-specification temperatures, without the need to disassemble the machine. The novelty will be at the Coopavel Rural Show, which takes place from February 4th to 8th, in Cascavel (PR).

“The diagnosis is accurate and fast, through the reading of thermal images, which emit previously defined colors, according to the thermal radiation in each piece”, explains Marcos Araújo, coordinator of Advanced Solutions at Case IH. “In the end, the identified infrared radiation demonstrates whether a certain component of the machine is faulty or at risk of future failure,” he adds.

Using this device, it is possible to capture the infrared energy (heat) emitted by the object framed by the lens and convert this energy, which is concentrated in an infrared detector, made up of thousands of infrared sensors (pixels), into an electronic signal .

By detecting temperature differences in the infrared world, the Thermal Imager makes previously invisible thermal energy visible. “Thermal images represent one of the most advanced technologies ever developed to improve visual perception”, comments Araújo. “With this new feature, it is possible to detect problems that were previously unnoticed”, he concludes.

Maintenance plan

Another Case IH solution, which offers scheduled interventions, is the Maintenance Plan. The service aims to increase the availability and performance of machines. With the payment of a fixed monthly amount, the producer can count on all preventive actions in their equipment. The packages are programmed according to the needs and application of the machinery.
