Expointer entered the calendar of construction machinery manufacturers. Case Construction Equipment launches products at the event for the second year in a row. In 2017, there are two wheel loader models: the W20F, with a 152 hp mechanical engine, and the 621E, equipped with a 137 hp electronic engine.

In agribusiness, the two machines are used to supply trucks, load grains, fertilizers, supply coal furnaces, transport and spread materials. The W20F, due to its robustness, is also used in windrowing, construction of dams, vegetation suppression and loading of wooden logs.

“Agribusiness is today one of the main markets for construction machines, which help to increase productivity in the field. Therefore, the main agricultural fairs in the country are on our calendar for the official launch of our products, as happens here at Expointer”, says the vice-president of CASE for Latin America, Roque Reis.

CASE participates in Expointer 2017 together with Case IH, a manufacturer of agricultural machinery that also belongs to CNH Industrial. CASE exhibits its launches and also the following models: CX240C hydraulic excavator, SV300 mini loader and two models of the 580N backhoe loader. In its 40th edition, the exhibition is recognized as one of the largest events of its kind in the world, and takes place between August 26th and September 3rd.

The main differences between the two new CASE wheel loader models are durability, lower cost of ownership and fuel consumption, says Marketing Manager for Latin America, Maurício Moraes.

In the case of the W20F, the highlight is the mechanical engine and no electronic components. “There is still a strong demand in Brazil for a simple product, without much electronics on board and with low operational and maintenance costs”, guarantees Moraes.

The W20F has a NEF 6 mechanical engine from FPT Industrial, which meets MAR-I/Tier 3 legislation and develops 152 hp of gross power. It is the most robust in its category and offers advantages over the previous version, such as cheaper maintenance and easier access to the engine, lower external noise levels and 13% greater productivity with the new engine's torque curve. “The engine’s new torque curve allows it to obtain maximum torque faster and maintain it for longer compared to the W20E”, explains Product Specialist Pablo Sales. “As a result, the machine also fills the bucket more quickly, increasing work performance”, he adds.

In the F version, the W20 is up to four times easier to maintain than the E due to the new access doors to the engine compartment and the repositioning of the battery boxes. It is also equipped with a Cooling Box system standard and similar to the national E Series models (621, 721 and 821) for better cooling and increased component life. As an option, there is a reversible fan activated from inside the cabin, which allows cleaning of all heat exchangers, even while the machine is working, which avoids unwanted stops.

To install the cooling system, the F version has a 300 mm larger rear chassis, but maintains the same turning radius as the E model; in addition to a new counterweight due to the increase in the rear chassis.

Another difference that facilitates maintenance are the parts in common with other models. The W20F's engine is mechanical, but from the same family as those used in the brand's other wheel loader models (621E, 721E and 821E). “Customers who have one of the E series models can use the common parts to carry out maintenance on the W20, reducing their inventory. As an example, the fuel filter is now the same for all four models”, compares Sales.

The operator also gained more comfort. Idling noise was eliminated and the external noise level was reduced to 107 dBA, similar to other models available on the market.

The W20F underwent field tests at companies that evaluated the model's performance. “A large steel mill in Minas Gerais highlighted the low level of external noise and the greater performance in breakout force and stability, maintaining the same fuel consumption compared to the W20E”, comments Maurício Moraes.

Features of the W20F

Engine/ Gross power - 152 hp (113 kW) @ 2500 rpm

Standard bucket – 1,91 m³

Operating Weight: 10.050 kg

Tipping Load: 6.108 kg

Operating Load: 3.054 kg

Breakout Force: 8.126 kg

Economy first – The 621E arrives on the market with a great new feature in terms of fuel consumption: the FPT Industrial NEF6 Mar-I/Tier 3 electronic engine with two power curves. In addition to the standard, there is also the economical option, which guarantees 10% fuel savings compared to the previous version.

The model also features a differential in the torque curve that allows it to reach power more quickly and maintain it for longer, ensuring agility when filling the bucket.

The durability of the E version is also greater. In the case of brake discs, for example, it reaches 3,5 times more. For engine oil, engine filter and air filter, the need for change is twice as low as in the previous version; as for the coolant, four times less.

Sharing parts is another factor that guarantees savings for the owner. The 621E has common parts and uses an engine from the same family as the W20F, 721E and 821E wheel loaders.

 Features 621E

Engine/ Gross power: 137 hp (102 kW) @ 2000 rpm

Standard bucket: 2,1 m³ (2,75 jd³)

Operating Weight: 12.100 kg

Tipping Load: 8.953 kg

Operating Load: 4.476 kg

Breakout Force: 11.841 kg
