Producers in Rio Grande do Sul have a new opportunity to learn about and ask questions about Monsanto's exclusive technologies. To this end, the company takes a series of interactive actions and a qualified technical team to Expodireto Cotrijal, held from March 7th to 11th, in Não-Me-Toque (RS). During the event, Monsanto bets on interactivity and knowledge to attract visitors, in addition to reinforcing how management can be one of the best tools for achieving productivity in crops.

Partner with the producer in achieving record harvests, the company will present informative videos to clarify frequently asked questions from producers, such as: grain storage on the property, delivery volume and the importance of purchasing certified seeds. With the guidance of entomologists, visitors will be able to recognize in person the caterpillars that cause the greatest damage in the field. A game reinforces the concepts of the correct way to create refuge, a resource used in areas cultivated with seeds that contain Bt technologies, resistant to pests, which prevents the selection of insects and brings benefits to the farmer in pest management.

“Discover Monsanto” is the name of the game that will clarify the truths and myths about the company and its products for event participants. To participate, the player simply answers the questions displayed on a touchscreen totem. In addition to interacting, the visitor takes home an instant photo recording their visit to the Monsanto stand.

INTACTA RR2 PRO

Monsanto will present informative videos on the Intacta RR2 PRO technology – the only soybean on the market that offers three direct benefits to the producer – displayed on totems and virtual glasses to answer common questions in the routine of soybean farmers who choose to plant the technology. The Intacta RR2 PRO technology has consolidated itself in the Brazilian market and reaches its third commercial harvest with expressive numbers in Rio Grande do Sul: Of the approximately 90 thousand producers who planted Intacta RR2 PRO this harvest, almost 30% are from Rio Grande do Sul. In the technology space at the Monsanto stand, entomologists will be available to visitors in a live recognition event for the caterpillars that cause the greatest losses in the field. And a game will reinforce the concepts in the correct way to create a structured refuge. The resource in areas cultivated with seeds that contain pest-resistant Bt technologies prevents the selection of insects, helping to maintain the benefits of Monsanto's technology.

In Rio Grande do Sul, the area cultivated with soybeans is expected to grow 3,9% in relation to the previous period, going from 5.249,2 to 5.455,0 thousand hectares. Production is expected to increase from 14.881,5 to 15.274,0 thousand tons, that is, 2,6%. In the Northwest region of Rio Grande do Sul, where Expodireto takes place, approximately 3,4 million hectares of soybeans are planted, in addition to first-crop corn and beans, representing 8,23% of these three crops in the country.

MONSOY

Monsoy is a brand of soybean seeds from Monsanto that has established itself in the market as a reference in germplasm, with varieties that present the best adaptability and productivity for each Brazilian region. During Expodireto Cotrijal, she reinforces the brand's 20th anniversary campaign in Brazil, created to promote its leadership and strengthen the relationship with seed producers and soybean farmers. In addition to videos and animations that highlight the importance of soy in Brazil, the initiatives include actions in regional media and direct marketing initiatives. At Expodireto Cotrijal, Monsoy launches the highly productive early variety M5730IPRO. The germplasm, developed through conventional genetic improvement, combined with the differentials of INTACTA RR2 PRO technology, offers protection against the main caterpillars that attack soybean crops, as well as phytophora and cyst nematodes. The M5730IPRO is also resistant to lodging.

AGROESTE

Agroeste, committed to offering products and solutions with technical consultancy to producers during all stages of soybean cultivation, presents in Não-Me-Toque (RS) a broad portfolio, highlighting the cultivar AS 3570 IPRO, an early variety that offers stability productive at planting.

CROP PROTECTION

Monsanto arrives in Cotrijal with the launch of a new communications campaign, which will showcase the partnership between Roundup and farmers for more than 40 years. In a booth located at the Monsanto stand, producers will be able to record in video form their story with Roundup and how the product has brought benefits to their crops, their business and their lives. The testimonials can be seen later on the Roundup website, during the campaign throughout Brazil. There will also be an exclusive space for the Roundup WG product where producers and visitors will be able to interactively check out the product's differences, in terms of ease of transportation, reduction of storage space, as well as practical handling and disposal of packaging.

CORN VT PRO3

Monsanto arrives at the 17th edition of Expodireto Cotrijal through Monsanto's corn seed brands: Dekalb, Sementes Agroceres and Agroeste, which provide producers with 17 different hybrids with high productive potential associated with the main difference of VT PRO 3 technology: protection of the roots of corn plant. The technology has two Bt proteins against aerial part pests and one specific against pinworm larvae (Diabrotica speciosa), a pest that is hidden in the soil and feeds on corn roots, reducing the ability to absorb water and nutrients and reducing the potential crop productivity. It also acts against area pests that attack the leaves, stalk and ear of corn – armyworms, earworms, elasm and stalk borer.
