The 21st Expodireto Cotrijal, one of the biggest Agribusiness events in Brazil, ended in an optimistic atmosphere. The fair recorded R$ 2.653.177 in sales. The value is 10% higher than the R$2,4 billion obtained in 2019.

According to the president of Cotrijal, Nei César Manica, the numbers were surprising. Due to the drought in Rio Grande do Sul, the expectation was to achieve sales similar to last year.

“We have many producers capitalized with their own resources, bank financing with a two-year grace period and many businesses from people from other states in Brazil”, commented Manica. The president cited as an example the case of two producers who came from Amapá and purchased around 20 machines.

Held between Monday (2) and Friday (6), in Não-Me-Toque, in Planalto Gaúcho, the Fair received 256 thousand visitors. Last year, 268 thousand people attended the event. A drop of 4% compared to 2019. Cotrijal management believes that the smaller audience is possibly due to fear regarding the first cases of coronavirus registered in the country.

Agrodigital Arena

The numbers were presented at a press conference held at Arena Agrodigital, the main novelty of this edition of the Fair. In a circular format, the 1,6 square meter venue brought together 22 companies and startups that presented innovative technologies for the field.

“Arena’s objective is to help disseminate technology and reduce costs for producers,” said Manica.

In addition to the president of Cotrijal, the vice-president, Enio Schroeder, the president of the Legislative Assembly of Rio Grande do Sul, Ernani Polo, the mayor of Não-Me-Toque, Pedro Paulo Falcão da Rosa, and other members also participated in the press conference. of the Fair's organizing committee.

2021

The 22nd Expodireto Cotrijal already has a set date. It will take place between March 1st and 5th, 2021, in Não-Me-Toque.
