“By indicating climatic, agronomic and operational variables, the application makes a quick selection of possible nozzle models to be used”, explains Walter Mosquini, agronomist and specialist in Application Technology at Jacto.

The application will be available free of charge for both the iOS, Android and Windows Phone platforms with versions in Portuguese, English and Spanish.

The first screen asks whether the sprayer that will be used has bars, generally used in low-lying crops such as soybeans, wheat and peanuts, or are machines for spraying perennial crops, such as oranges, grapes and coffee.

For sprayers with booms, operational parameters such as speed, application volume, spacing between nozzles and the desired manufacturing material (ceramic or plastic) must be indicated, in addition to agronomic variables such as type of product (Fungicide, Insecticide and Herbicide) if it has systemic or contact action and finally, climatic variables such as temperature, humidity and wind speed must be informed.

For the turbo line, speed, volume, number of possible nozzles on the machine, spacing between streets and whether the type of application is unilateral or bilateral are requested.

With this information, the application indicates the best nozzle models for each occasion. When selecting one of the listed options, information such as working pressure, flow rate and droplet size are informed, as well as quality parameters such as probability of penetration, risk of drift (if high, medium or low), risk of evaporation (if high , medium or low), risk of runoff and product coverage in drops/cm2, the latter must be evaluated in the field.

“All the logic used in the development of this application comes from Jacto’s years of experience in offering solutions related to spraying”, concludes Mosquini.
