Agrishow Special: GSI is recognized with the Gerdau Best of the Earth Award

GSI Brasil is celebrating: the company was recognized with the Gerdau Melhores da Terra Award. Its new equipment in the grain storage segment, the Block-Velox Furnace, was the winner in the category New from Agrishow, in the Scale Agriculture subdivision. The announcement was made at a press conference at the opening of the fair (today, April 25), which takes place in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo. The awards ceremony takes place tomorrow, the 26th, at 10:30 am, at Casa da Fazenda, in Parque da Agrishow. The fair continues until next Friday (29).

GSI's Warehousing Commercial Director, José Luiz Viscardi, says that the brand is extremely happy with the award. “This recognition from one of the most important awards in Brazilian agribusiness adds even more value to our equipment. It is a confirmation of its efficiency", emphasizes Viscardi.

With an exclusive assembly system – more durable and much faster –, the Block-Velox Furnace was developed to fit the entire line of Process Dryer dryers. It is made of galvanized steel, refractory concrete blocks and aluminosilicate glass fiber, a state-of-the-art material in terms of thermal insulation and impact resistance.

The development of Block-Velox was based on the objective of achieving three premises: durability, ease of installation and energy efficiency. All three were awarded. When it comes to durability, the new furnace has high resistance to impact and high temperatures. As for ease of installation, Block-Velox follows the concept of mechanical assembly in attachable blocks (like a Lego), with zero civil construction from its flat base, which reduces assembly time by 60% and 75% in total weight of the system in relation to a conventional furnace built. The energy efficiency of the furnace is guaranteed by its ability to use heat lost through the external walls and by preheating the combustion air.

Furthermore, the combustion temperature reaches 600 degrees, generating fewer contaminants. The Block-Velox furnace generates a low amount of waste from the combustion system due to the high temperature and the cyclone system, which retains the solid particles generated (sparks, ash). The equipment is the result of a genuinely Brazilian project that began in 2005. Over the 10 years of conception, several tests were carried out, which allowed the new product to be consolidated.

the award – Melhores da Terra is annual and is in its 33rd edition. It is the biggest award in South America for the agricultural machinery and equipment sector, with the aim of encouraging technological evolution and contributing to greater productivity in the field.

The New Agrishow category has two subdivisions: Family Farming and Scale Farming, which differ by the maximum amount allowed for financing agricultural equipment in the Official Programs of the Ministry of Agrarian Development.
