The new board of directors of the Irrigation Equipment Sector Chamber (CSEI), of the Brazilian Association of Machinery and Equipment Industry (Abimaq) took office this Wednesday (1/5), at Agrishow 2019 - 26th International Fair of Agricultural Technology in Action Renato Silva assumed the presidency with a mandate until 2021, replacing Marcus Tessler, who was in charge of the Chamber in the 2017-2019 biennium. CSEI operates in several forums to develop policies and actions that promote the development of irrigated agriculture.
“I just have to thank my predecessor, Marcus. He committed himself to making our sector grow. I hope to continue all the work already done and that is being developed. My goal is to pass the baton in two years and say that our team contributed to the further development of irrigation. The challenges for Brazil are great, but we have immense potential ahead of us”, concludes Silva.
According to Tessler, it was enriching to preside over the entity for two years. “The experience made me see things in a broader way than my daily work at the company. The irrigation segment currently represents around 18% of the planted area, in addition to being present in 40% of the world's food production. We have everything to grow,” he commented. In addition to the president, CSEI has on its board: Ângelo Tadeu Piassetta, Egídio Osti Neto, Laercio José Lavor, Luiz Paulo Heimpel and Marcos Orlando Germek.
