With 100% of the estimated area sown, Mato Grosso do Sul concluded the planting of the 22/23 soybean harvest, reaching 3,842 million hectares. The operation was completed within the average of the last five years, as shown in the Casa Rural Agriculture Bulletin, produced by the Association of Soy Producers of Mato Grosso do Sul – Aprosoja/MS, Sistema Famasul and the State Government, which also points out, an estimate of 53 bags/hectare and production of 12,3 million tons.
“We closed the sowing operation with a slight delay this year, however, we have better soil conditions, plants with greater health and a lower occurrence of insects and diseases. Producers are increasingly concerned with assertive and sustainable management techniques and this has been demonstrated in the field. So far, crop conditions are favorable for a harvest of good results in our State”, highlights the president of Aprosoja/MS, André Dobashi.
In the state scenario, crops are in good condition in 97% of areas and regular conditions in 3%. The southern region, made up of the municipalities of Itaporã, Douradina, Dourados, Deodápolis, Angélica, Ivinhema, Glória de Dourados, Fátima do Sul, Vicentina, Caarapó and Juti, is the one with the greatest phenological development of the crop, with plants reaching the R4 stage , indicated by the complete development of the pod and presents the same state indicators regarding the conditions of the areas.
In oilseed areas, there is no significant occurrence of weeds, insect pests or diseases, however, controlling the incidence of volunteer corn is an extremely necessary tool to avoid the green bridge and the proliferation of the leafhopper (Dalbulus maidis), an insect with potential to reduce corn production.
Future grain sales remain at 20%, at an average price of R$156,41. Sales from the previous harvest reached 94,60% at an average price of R$169,08.
Climate: Most of the rains are occurring in isolation and as a result, there is great variation in accumulated precipitation, including within properties, providing different conditions for plant development.
The Global Forecast System indicates unstable weather for this Wednesday, (7); with a probability of light to moderate rain in most regions. For the rest of the week, the rains will stay away, however, in the central-north and northeast regions, the occurrence of rain and storms cannot be ruled out.
For the quarter covering the months of December to February, the National Institute of Meteorology – INMET, indicates that rainfall will be 40 to 60% below the historical average for the central-west, southwest and pantanal regions of Mato Grosso do Sul. On the other hand, in the extreme north, pocket and extreme south regions of the State, rainfall will be 35 to 50% above the climatological average for the period.
