The Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industries (ABIOVE) informs that vehicle traffic on the paralyzed sections of BR-163 was reestablished on Thursday (07/03). With the normalization of flow on the highway, trucks transporting around 35 thousand tons of soybeans per day now head towards the Port of Miritituba (PA).

The resumption of traffic was only possible thanks to the joint effort of the National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT), the Brazilian Army and the Ministry of Infrastructure, which directed work teams that worked 24 hours a day to carry out repairs on the track. The agility in stopping the road was also essential to guarantee the well-being of truck drivers, who received direct assistance from the authorities.
