The Ministry of Agriculture (Mapa) published this week Ordinance SDA/Mapa No. 968/2023, which changes the soybean sowing calendar for the State of Mato Grosso. Now, producers will have until January 13, 2024 to complete planting, extending the deadline by 20 days.

The change request came from Famato, with a request for a 40-day extension. The request was justified based on the impacts of adverse geoclimatic conditions faced by producers in recent months.

After the sowing deadline, the soybean sanitary void will come into effect, when planting and/or keeping soybean plants alive is prohibited. The phytosanitary measure aims to contain the occurrence of Asian rust.
