Embrapa launches four soybean cultivars for Central-North Brazil
One conventional soybean cultivar and three transgenic ones with high production ceiling, adaptability and indication for producing regions in Central Brazil
Soybean oil prices, which have been rising significantly since last year due to greater demand, the appreciation of oil, external increases and also Brazil's export premiums, renewed the nominal records of the Cepea series, which began in July 1998.
According to data from Cepea, in real terms (averages deflated by the IGP-DI of September/21), current soybean oil prices are the highest in a year. And global demand for soybean oil also continues to grow, reaching record volumes.
In the 2020/21 harvest, global production of palm oil (soybean oil's main competitor) was the lowest since the 2017/18 season, according to the USDA, leading consumers to purchase a greater volume of soybean oil.
