A delegation of soybean producers led by Aprosoja Brasil visited the headquarters of the Chicago Board of Trader (CBOT), the Stock Exchange responsible for the main global grain market negotiations. The visit took place on Monday morning (12/8), the date of the release of the harvest report from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The delegation was received by CME Group's Business Director for the Americas, Anne Schankin, a Brazilian who has worked directly at CBTO for 14 years and who gave guidance on the Stock Exchange's activities, its origins and importance.

Earlier, soybean farmers were at the headquarters of AG Resources Company (ARC), a company that has been offering consultancy to grain producers in the main markets on the continent since 1987. And they heard a talk from the company's president, Dan Basse, about the main trends for the global commodities market.

Despite the rain hitting the state of Illinois, the group visited a corn producer in the city of Sheffield, around 200 km from Chicago, to see up close the challenges and opportunities for producers in the region.
