Soybean cultivation this week reached 83% of the total planting intention of 5,97 million hectares for the 2019/2010 harvest in Rio Grande do Sul. According to the Conjunctural Information, released on Thursday (05/12 ) by Emater/RS-Ascar in partnership with the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development (Seadpr), the crops are 100% in vegetative development.

In the same period, corn sowing reached 88% of the area of more than 777 thousand hectares intended for planting in the State. Of the planted crops, 50% are in the vegetative development phase, 22% in flowering and 28% in grain filling.

Rice cultivation reached 96% of the area of more than 944 hectares estimated for the harvest. Favorable weather in all regions allowed producers to advance in preparing new areas and plantings. Like soybeans, rice crops are 100% in the vegetative development phase.

The implementation of first-crop bean cultivation in the State reached 90% of the planned area; 48% of crops are in the vegetative development phase, 20% in the flowering phase, 20% in grain filling and 12% of them are maturing.

Vegetable growers

In the Emater/RS-Ascar de Ijuí region, the return of moisture in the soil and air benefits the development of vegetable crops. Producers took advantage of the moisture in the soil to intensify sowing and transplanting new areas. Vegetable prices remained stable in the region, with prices the same as the previous week.

In the Northwest Frontier and Missões regions, cassava crops continue to develop vegetatively. Producers weed weeds. In most crops, good stand formation and good plant health conditions are observed. However, some varieties that are more sensitive to diseases continue to show rot due to the excess humidity that occurred in early November. In the Northeast region, Passo Fundo region, late varieties of garlic are in the harvest phase. In general, the harvested product is of good quality. No local quote.

In the Emater/RS-Ascar region of Caxias do Sul, the harvest of the super early varieties of onion is complete, the early varieties are heading towards the end and the late variety, Crioula, has not yet started, which represents 85% of the total area of 1,4 XNUMX thousand hectares cultivated in Serra Gaúcha. The delay in the development of these crops was caused by low temperatures in August and September, excess humidity and little solar radiation in October and part of November.

Fruit crops

In the Santa Rosa region, the harvest of Montenegrin bergamot is in its final phase and Valencia Delta and Late oranges and other citrus fruits are in the fruiting phase, with a strong attack by leafminers and aphids. The harvest of early peach varieties was completed, with excellent production; the rest are in the maturation phase. Plums are in the fruiting phase, presenting a good fruit load; avocado, mango, fig and guava in full fruition. The start of the grape harvest is scheduled for next week; Producers perform green pruning and apply Bordeaux mixture. Apples of the Eva and Julieta varieties are producing well, and harvesting will begin in the next few days. Banana with strong emission of clones/shoots and bunches; bunches ripen where there was no frost. Strawberry in full harvest. With the increase in temperature, short-day varieties began to emit stolons, which must be eliminated in favor of fruit production.
