Mathematical model predicts HLB dispersion from citrus
A mathematical model can help farmers assess the impact of the huanglongbing disease (HLB), also known as greening, on citrus crops in the country
The role of innovation in strengthening the soy production chain in Brazil will be highlighted in the opening lecture of the 35th Soy Research Meeting, which will be promoted by Embrapa Soja, on the 5th and 6th of July, at the Hotel Sumatra, in Londrina (PR ). Topics such as Asian rust resistance to fungicides, industrial seed treatment and inoculation, new genetically modified organisms, challenges for the effective use of Integrated Pest Management, among other topics, will also be discussed. The program will also include the consolidation of reports on the performance of soybean crops in Brazil, 2015/16 harvest, by Brazilian region.
The expectation is to bring together approximately 500 soy agribusiness professionals, including scientists, rural extension technicians, teachers and producers. The objective of the event is to bring together the different segments of the soy production chain, as well as to discuss the main advances and challenges for the crop.
According to researcher Alvadi Balbinot, from Embrapa Soja, coordinator of the event, this is the main research forum for analyzing the soybean agricultural complex. Through the discussions discussed at this Meeting, it is possible to support the definition of research priorities and technology transfer.
