As part of Amazon Soil 2018, an event on soil science, held from March 25th to 28th, in Chapadinha - MA, researchers and analysts from Embrapa presented lectures at different times during the program. Embrapa Meio-Norte was also responsible for carrying out a technical visit to Fazenda Barbosa, in Brejo – MA, a partner property of the institution in Research & Development and Technology Transfer actions of the Crop-Livestock-Forest Integration System (ILPF ).
Researcher Henrique Antunes de Souza presented the lecture “Soil fertility and tools for nutritional diagnosis in intensive production systems”. The general head of Embrapa Meio-Norte, Luiz Fernando Leite, spoke about “Soil organic matter and modeling in production systems in the cerrado of Meio-Norte”.
The technical visit to Fazenda Barbosa took place on the afternoon of March 28th. Lectures were given by researchers from Embrapa Meio-Norte, Raimundo Bezerra de Araújo Neto and Henrique Antunes; the agronomist from the Federal University of Minhas Gerais, Leidivan Almeida Frazão; the agronomist from Inovagro, Daniel Ricardo Teixeira and the manager of Fazenda Barbosa, Fernando Devicari.
Amazon Soil 2018 had the theme “Soil and its role in the sustainability of agroecosystems and was promoted by the Brazilian Society of Soil Science and the Federal University of Maranhão – Campus Chapadinha.
