Pests and diseases of economic importance in grape crops are the focus of Sipcam Nichino Brasil in the edition of Tecnovitis 2021. The event, in person, focused on innovation, technologies, equipment and inputs to support wine production in the Vale dos Vinhedos region of Rio Grande do Sul , takes place from the 1st to the 3rd of December, in the city of Bento Gonçalves. Tecnovitis, which reaches its fourth edition, is carried out and promoted by the Serra Gaúcha Rural Union.
Sipcam Nichino brings to the event a relevant set of cutting-edge technologies, covering biostimulants and potassium phosphite with silicon, in addition to its broad portfolio of fungicides and insecticides.
Winegrowers attending the event will have the opportunity to learn more about Nutex Premium technology, for example. “It is a compound that uses potassium and silicon phosphite, to be applied alone or combined with fungicides. It works as an activator of the grape's natural defense mechanisms against disease-causing fungi”, highlights Celso Albino Andriolo, agronomist and account executive at Sipcam Nichino.
According to him, the company also highlights the Abyss biostimulant, which has among its differences the composition based on a pure extract of seaweed, plus micronutrients such as iron, manganese, boron and zinc. “Abyss increases the photosynthetic efficiency of viticulture, favoring the emergence of grapes that are more resistant to environmental adversities,” he explains.
Among Sipcam Nichino's insecticides for grapes, says Andriolo, the products Trebon 100 SC, “successfully used to control fruit flies” and Sparviero, specifically for caterpillar management, are the company's main attractions at Tecnovitis.
According to agronomist José de Freitas, from the market development area at Sipcam Nichino, in the fungicide segment, the Italian-Japanese company reserves information for the wine producer from Rio Grande do Sul regarding the company's wide range of technologies, including the products Academic, Cuprozeb, Echo and Zetanil, “highly effective in managing downy mildew”. The disease, common in Vale dos Vinhedos, is potentially harmful to grapes.
As for the control of anthracnose, rot and powdery mildew, other diseases equally harmful to crop productivity, adds Freitas, Sipcam Nichino reinforces the attributes of the fungicides Cuprozeb, Domark 100 and Metiltiofan, in addition to Echo, at the event.
According to Andriolo and Freitas, the Sipcam Nichino technical team specialized in grape cultivation will be present at the company's stand, especially to detail field results delivered by the brand's portfolio, in recent years, to the vineyards of Serra Gaúcha and Rio Grande do Sul .
