The Italian-Japanese company Sipcam Nichino Brasil announces a new era in weed control for corn producers, with the launch of the Click brand herbicide. The company will officially introduce the technology to the Brazilian market on the 23rd, with the presence of its commercial and research teams as well as representatives of resellers, cooperatives and large grain producing groups.

On the occasion, the CEO and marketing director of Sipcam Nichino, Alexandre Gobbi and Leandro Martins, respectively, will present the new technology. Click is the result of an innovation process that required eight years of investment in testing and research, carried out in more than 80 trials and 100 demonstration fields, across the entire national agricultural frontier.

According to the executives, the new herbicide increases the productive potential of corn, in the off-season and summer harvest, especially due to the effective action of the latest generation molecule Terbuthylazine, unprecedented in Brazil.

“We are confident that control of corn invasives will be divided between before and after Click. The product will revolutionize weed management”, summarizes Gobbi. Director Martins adds that the new herbicide solves growing and recurring problems for producers, faced with weed infestations that are difficult to control, in pre-emergence and post-emergence.

“All tests and research completed in the pre-launch revealed that Terbuthylazine delivers reliability in the control of broad leaves, in addition to good suppression of grasses”, adds agronomist José de Freitas, from the market development area at Sipcam Nichino.

According to Freitas, in field evaluations Click stood out for its prolonged residual on the main weeds of the crop, even under conditions of high infestation pressure. “Click herbicide maintains the crop with a lower level of reinfestation of species that are difficult to control. It will be a new reference in the market”, says Freitas.

For Sipcam Nichino's crop manager, Carulina Oliveira, with Click, the corn producer will have benefited the production system as a whole. According to her, the new herbicide proved to be superior to the market standard in the management of weeds such as trapoeraba, horseweed, pigweed, picão-preto and capim-de-galinha, among others. The application on certain species is in the registration phase.

“We noticed that the long residual period prevents reinfestation until the moment of harvest”, adds Carulina. She also points out that Click allows flexibility in application from full pre-emergence to ‘V5’ of corn. “Click can be used in combination with other herbicides and has a modern formulation, easy compatibility. It increases the operational yield of corn and opens a new era among crop herbicides sold in Brazil”, he concludes.
