BASF announces eight new molecules in Brazil by 2030
In addition to Revysol and Axalion, there are six more: herbicides, insecticides and fungicides.
Volatility in the fertilizer sector and projections for the next harvests in different scenarios are among the main themes of the Sindiadubos NPK 2022 Symposium, which will be held on October 27th, in Curitiba.
The event - will be promoted at the headquarters of the Federation of Industries of Paraná (Fiep) - and is expected to bring together a record audience in this edition, with more than 500 participants, including businesspeople and representatives of the productive sector. The president of Sindiadubos, Aluísio Schwartz Teixeira, explains that a projection of data on imports, purchases and the fertilizer sector in Brazil will be made, based on data from the National Association for the Diffusion of Fertilizers (ANDA).
"Inventories are reducing and adjusting, depending on consumption. We expect an increase in demand for 2023 and for imports and purchases to take place over the months so that there are no demand bottlenecks, but expectations are very good for next year ", says Aluísio.
The Sindiadubos Symposium, the first after the pandemic, also aims to enable networking and showcase the sector's latest developments.
The program includes lectures with the operations director of Portos do Paraná -- APPA, Luiz Teixeira da Silva Júnior and Kellen Severo, a journalist specializing in Economy and Agribusiness and who is the anchor and editor-in-chief of the newspaper Mercado & Cia, on Canal Rural. She also has a postgraduate degree in Economics from FIPE / USP and specialized in Agribusiness Law at Insper and agricultural derivatives at BM & FBovespa.
Brazil is the world's main producer of soybeans and occupies the top ranking of soybean exporting countries. Brazil imports 85% of the fertilizer used on crops. The country purchased a record volume of fertilizers this year. The measure was to guarantee sufficient inputs to expand the planted area in the face of fears of shortages due to the war between Ukraine and Russia, which is an important supplier.
"To give you an idea, from January to May this year, the movement of fertilizers through the ports of Paraná, the main gateway for the product into the country, increased by 14%, compared to the same period last year", he states.
