To resist corrosion, silos and other metal structures used to store agricultural products receive a layer of hot galvanization when they are produced. The problem is that over time, associated with weathering and natural wear, metals partially lose this protective layer and often cannot be dismantled and transported to a new hot galvanizing bath - which requires an infrastructure with a temperature above 450°C for zinc fusion.

According to the chemical specialty manufacturer Quimatic Tapmatic, the solution for these moments is cold galvanizing, which in addition to not requiring specialized labor, is easy to apply with a brush, roller or aerosol can.

“Cold galvanizing offers the same protection as hot galvanizing, with the advantage of allowing touch-ups or total protection in the location where the metal structure is located, that is, without wasting time dismantling and moving the parts”, explains Marcos Pacheco, Senior Chemist at Quimatic Tapmatic.

According to the professional, just like hot galvanizing, the protective layer of cold galvanizing resists extreme temperatures of cold and heat.

To ensure practicality and high quality in cold galvanizing, Quimatic Tapmatic offers CRZ. Ideal for application to welding points and all iron and steel structures that require extreme anti-corrosion protection due to being outdoors, buried or submerged, the product forms a protective layer that penetrates the porosity of the metal surface, further increasing resistance. to corrosion.

CRZ has a high level of galvanic metal in its composition (86%), resists temperatures from -50°C to 250°C continuously with peaks of up to 400°C and has passed a test lasting more than 1.200 hours in a salt spray chamber (salt spray). Adhesion to the metal is intensified by QuimaticTapmatic's exclusive "Lectrol" technology, which activates cathodic protection against rust.

The product is available in metal packaging of 225 ml, 900 ml, 3,6 liters, 18 liters and 300 ml aerosol cans. For more information about Quimatic Tapmatic’s solution for cold galvanizing, visit: www.quimatic.com.br/produtos/aanticorrosives/crz/
