O Sicredi, cooperative financial institution with more than 6 million members and presence in all Brazilian states and the Federal District, will make more than R$ 50,6 billion available to rural producers in the 2022/2023 Harvest Plan. The amount represents an increase of 33% compared to that granted in the previous harvest year and the projection is that the resources will be made available in around 272 thousand operations. Sicredi is the second largest financial institution in Brazil in rural credit.
Of this total, Sicredi expects to make R$27,6 billion available for funding operations, R$11,1 billion for investments and R$1,5 billion for commercialization and industrialization. In addition to these amounts, the projection of granting R$10,4 billion through Rural Producer Certificates (CPR).
With a focus on serving small and medium-sized producers, R$10,5 billion will be made available via Pronaf (National Program for Strengthening Family Agriculture), a volume 41% higher than that seen in the last crop year, and R$9,6. 43 billion via Pronamp (Support Program for Medium Rural Producers), an increase of 199%. The forecast is for more than 83 thousand operations for these audiences, which represents XNUMX% of the total harvest.
“We have a centuries-old history of close proximity to agribusiness. Our objective is to always be close to producers, to know their needs and peculiarities in each location, so that we can offer our consultancy in the most appropriate way possible for each reality”, says Gustavo Freitas, executive director of Credit at Sicredi.
Sicredi is already receiving financing proposals for the 2022/2023 Harvest Plan, which runs until the end of June next year. Before requesting credit, the associated rural producer must plan the next harvest (considering what he will plant, what the cultivation area is and the necessary budget based on soil analysis and under technical guidance regarding the use of inputs and the other services that will be used). After that, armed with all this information, the member can look for your branch or use digital channels such as the Sicredi app or WhatsApp to proceed with contracting the credit.
In the 2021/2022 harvest year, Sicredi released a record volume of rural credit. It was R$38,2 billion to producers in more than 251 thousand operations, also considering R$7,4 billion in CPR, a significant number that represents a growth of 359% compared to the previous crop year. Due to the scenario of rising interest rates in the period, CPRs were a widely used alternative for financing rural activities. For family farming alone, in the 2021/2022 harvest cycle, R$7,4 billion was allocated and R$6,8 billion was allocated to medium-sized farmers. The two audiences were served through 189.673 thousand operations.
