Sicred will make R$66,5 billion available to rural producers in the 2024/2025 Harvest Plan. The amount represents an increase of 17% compared to that granted in the previous harvest year and is expected to be released in more than 353 thousand operations, serving mainly small and medium-sized producers. Currently, Sicredi is the second largest financial institution in Brazil in terms of agricultural portfolio, totaling R$87,4 billion in balance.

For the states of Paraná, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Sicredi will provide approximately R$18,4 billion in resources. The amount represents an increase of 38% compared to the amount granted in the previous year. The forecast is that these resources will allow more than 100 thousand credit operations to be carried out, boosting the regional economy and providing essential financial support for companies and individuals. "This increase reflects a continuous effort to expand access to credit and encourage economic development in these regions, meeting growing financing needs and encouraging investments in various productive sectors", reinforces the Business Development manager at Central Sicredi PR/SP/ RJ, Gilson Farias.

Of the total available, Sicredi estimates that R$30,6 billion will be released for funding operations, R$14,1 billion for investments and R$1,3 billion for commercialization and industrialization. The financial institution also foresees a significant expansion of 17% in the granting of credits through Rural Producer Certificates (CPR), reaching R$20,5 billion available to producers. In Paraná, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Sicredi estimates that R$15,6 billion will be released for funding, commercialization and industrialization. In addition, R$2,8 billion will be made available for medium and long-term investments. The volumes allocated to CPR must exceed 20% of concessions, reaching a total of R$3,9 billion.

For family farming, Sicredi will offer R$13,6 billion and, for medium-sized producers, another R$15,6 billion. Around 90%* of Sicredi's total operations planned for this harvest year will be allocated to small and medium-sized producers. For other producers, the volume available is R$16,8 billion. One of Sicredi's great differences is its ability to act at the cutting edge, in a close relationship with its members, a result of its great national reach. The cooperative financial institution's projection is to offer R$3,2 billion to family farming, R$6,7 billion to medium-sized producers and R$8,5 billion to other producers in Paraná, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

“We are ready to support national agribusiness in another Harvest Plan cycle. This harvest year, we reinforced our attention to serving small producers, an audience that, in addition to the usual challenges, has been hit hard by climate issues in recent cycles. Through our more than 100 cooperatives, we will continue to act very closely, actively participating in each location where we are present through consultative and specialized service”, highlights Gustavo Freitas, executive director of Business, Credit and Products at Sicredi.

Sicredi has already been receiving requests for financing for the 2024/2025 Harvest Plan, which runs from July this year until the end of June 2025. When requesting credit, the associated rural producer must plan the next harvest, considering what they will plant , what is the cultivation area and the necessary budget based on soil analysis and under technical guidance regarding the use of inputs and other services that will be used. The member is then advised to look for their agency or use digital channels, such as the Sicredi app and WhatsApp, to proceed with contracting the credit.

“Associates linked to agribusiness already know that they can count on us to support their production or day-to-day needs. In addition to rural credit, in which we are the main private financial agent in Brazil, at Sicredi our members can also count on credit card solutions, consumer credit, investments, insurance, among others”, highlights Thiago Rossoni, Superintendent of Agribusiness from Sicredi.

Balance of the 2023/2024 harvest at Sicredi

In the 2023/2024 harvest year, Sicredi released a record volume of financing to rural producers. There were R$56,9 billion in more than 320 thousand operations, considering R$17,5 billion in CPR. The main audiences served were small and medium-sized producers, who accounted for 89%* of total operations, totaling R$24,3 billion in credit volume. In the states of Paraná, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, R$13,4 billion were released by Sicredi to rural producers, distributed in around 90 thousand credit operations, including R$3,2 billion in CPR throughout the year- 2023/2024 harvest. Small and medium-sized producers were responsible for more than 89% of these operations, demonstrating strong support for these essential segments of the agricultural sector.

Sicredi has more than 2,7 branches, distributed in more than 2 municipalities in all regions of Brazil, and in more than 200 cities it is the only financial institution physically present. It currently serves more than 700 thousand rural producers, 95% of which are small or medium-sized.
