Sicoob, one of the biggest supporters of agricultural production in Brazil, is expected to generate R$41 billion in the 2022/2023 Harvest for cooperative rural producers, according to information from the cooperative financial institution. The percentage increase is 71%, compared to the previous harvest year, in which around R$24 billion in credit was granted to small, medium and corporate producers.
The institution makes its resources available to structure, finance and sell its production. In insurance, it has products aimed at protecting assets and promoting security, stability and tranquility for this public.
According to Sicoob's Commercial and Channels Director, Francisco Reposse Junior, the System expects to grow 71% compared to the previous crop year and believes that the amount to be allocated is an excellent opportunity for producers of all sectors. ports. “All of our cooperative rural producers, no matter their size, will be able to benefit from the resource”, he celebrates.
In the current Plan, Sicoob will allocate R$21 billion to funding operations, R$17 billion to investment operations and R$3 billion to industrialization and commercialization. R$9 billion will be directed to small producers through Pronaf, and R$11 billion to medium producers via Pronamp.
Sicoob is the main transferor of Funcafé in Brazil and the expectation is to release more than R$ 1 billion this crop year to coffee growers who use resources from this fund. Furthermore, Sicoob's cooperative rural producers will have available resources from the Constitutional Funds of the North and Central-West, resources from BNDES, in addition to free resources from cooperatives.
In addition to the movement of the current Safra Plan, Sicoob carries out several actions for rural producers who adopt strategies and business models committed to sustainability, aligned with the best ESG practices. This Thursday (7), for example, the 13th Rural Producer Workshop will take place, in which four producers from Minas Gerais, one from Espírito Santo and one from Santa Catarina, will be announced as winners of the Sustainable Rural Producer Award, a way for the System to recognize producers who raise the issue sustainability at the center of the production process, and with socio-environmental responsibility, they generate sustainable solutions that positively impact the communities in which they operate.
Today, Sicoob has more than 6 million members. Of these, around 490 thousand are rural producers and 76% of this group are small producers.
