Producers claimed difficulties with drainage caused by rain in May
The researcher at the Fisheries Institute (IP), Sergio Luiz dos Santos Tutui, is the new coordinator of the São Paulo Agribusiness Technology Agency (APTA). Tutui was appointed by the new Secretary of Agriculture and Supply of the State of São Paulo, Itamar Borges, on June 02nd. Since 2019, APTA has been directed by Antonio Batista Filho, who returns to developing his research activities at the Instituto Biológico (IB).
A new team will also lead the Secretariat's research institutes, regional and administrative units. They are Marcos Guimarães de Andrade Landell as director of the Agronomic Institute (IAC), Celso Luis Rodrigues Vegro from the Institute of Agricultural Economics (IEA), Cristiane Rodrigues Pinheiro Neves from the Fisheries Institute (IP), Enilson Geraldo Ribeiro from the Institute of Zootechnics (IZ ), Daniel Gomes from APTA Regional and Renata Helena Branco Arnandes from the Strategic Management Department (DGE).
According to Tutui, the six Institutes and 11 Regional Research Hubs linked to APTA have a great history and are recognized by the productive sector. "Our big challenge is that reality has been changing very quickly, especially with the new coronavirus pandemic, so we need to accelerate the adaptation of Institutes to this new reality, so that they are increasingly generators of knowledge and production technologies innovative solutions for society", he states.
