Brazilian coffee exports total 3,3 million bags in September
Performance increases shipments in the year to 26,2 million bags, a volume 9% lower than that recorded between January and September 2022
This week, the municipality of Tavares hosted the 3rd Corn Seminar. More than 50 farmers participated in the event, held at the Municipal Auditorium. Topics such as Corn Irrigation, Grain Drying and Storage and Good Storage Practices were discussed with rural extensionists from Emater/RS, Edenilson Batista de Oliveira, from the Municipal Office of Capão do Leão, Geverson Lessa dos Santos, from the Cooperative Unit from Pelotas, and Vagner da Silva Dias, from the Rio Grande Classification Unit.
During the Seminar, the importance of the quality of corn for the family rural property was highlighted, projecting the cereal as one of the main inputs for raising poultry, pigs, goats, cattle and others, in addition to highlighting the grain as a strategic food for the Brazilian food security over the last few decades.
At the end of the event, social extensionist Neiva Borges, from the Municipal Office of Emater/RS de Tavares, reflected on the importance of corn in human nutrition and offered a tasting of typical regional dishes, encouraging the use of this cereal, also rescuing the traditional cuisine of the municipality.
