Seminar in Patrocínio (MG) showcases DuPont's cutting-edge technologies for Brazilian coffee farming

DuPont Crop Protection participates from October 3rd to 5th in the 25th Coffee Seminar, in the city of Patrocínio, Cerrado Mineiro region. The event, one of the most traditional in the coffee production chain, will feature the company's technology portfolio for coffee, such as the insecticides Altacor and Benevia and the fungicide Aproach Prima, as well as the DuPont Café management program.

The Benevia insecticide is one of the most recognized technologies in Brazil for controlling the coffee borer and the coffee leaf miner, considered the most important crop pests today. The active ingredient of the product, points out the company, is the compound Cyantraniliprole, which has low toxicity, high insecticidal potency and is selective to the natural enemies of these pests.

In addition to Benevia, the company's other cutting-edge insecticide, Altacor, has also been successfully used to control the coffee leaf miner. Altacor, according to DuPont, was developed based on the latest generation molecule Rynaxypyr. “Altacor provides a prolonged period of control of the leaf miner and also preserves the natural enemies of this pest”, reinforces the company's marketing manager, Luís Grandeza.

The fungicide Aproach Prima is described by the company as a high-tech product for managing coffee rust and cercospora. “Aproach Prima is quickly absorbed by the crop, is not washed away by rainwater or irrigation and acts inside the plant. Its effect on farming is prolonged”, summarizes the company’s marketing director, Raphael Godinho.

Also during the Seminar, DuPont Crop Protection will highlight the Coffee Program, which is anchored in the use of cutting-edge inputs and the delivery of results to the producer in the face of the main pests and diseases of the crop. The fungicides Aproach Prima and Kocide, the insecticides Altacor and Benevia, the herbicide Ally and the acaricide Talento are part of this methodology.
